Tungsten isotopes (W)
Naturally occurring Tungsten has five stable isotopes.
Isotope | Maximum available enrichment (atomic %) | Natural abundance (atomic %) |
---|---|---|
¹⁸⁰W | >99.9, <1 | 0.12 |
¹⁸²W | >99.9, <1 | 26.50 |
¹⁸³W | >99.9, <1 | 14.30 |
¹⁸⁴W | >99.9, <1 | 30.60 |
¹⁸⁶W | >99.9, <1 | 28.40 |
Application of Tungsten isotopes
Tungsten 180 (W 180)
W-180 is used for the production of the therapeutic radioisotope W-181.
Tungsten 184 (W 184)
W-184 has been used to study the elastic and inelastic scattering of heavy ions.
Tungsten 186 (W 186)
W-186 is used for the production of W-188 which is used in so-called Tungsten-Rhenium generators and used as a therapeutic radioisotope.
