And right now, we’re looking for an IT senior Project Assurance Specialist, who will provide and enhance Urenco’s IT project delivery capabilities across a global footprint stretching over four operational sites and a number of business activities. Embedded within Design Authority the IT Senior Project Assurance Specialst provides excellence the in delivery of IT capital projects.
The position covers the full project lifecycle from project set up / initiation, through to project delivery stages and closure. Current annual IT budget is circa £9-11M. This is expected to at least double by 2026. Urenco Group’s global project portfolio of small and medium projects accumulating up to €100 million annual capex. Select projects ranging from €30 million to in excess of €500 million.
The role forms part of Design Assurance which is a Urenco Group Shared Service across all Business Units.
The IT Senior Project Assurance Specialst provides subject matter expert consulting and advice across Urenco Group’s IT project portfolio.
The IT Senior Project Assurance Specialist may be assigned to multiple major projects, and a number of smaller projects of strategic significance to the company.
What will your day look like?
On a typical project assignment:
• Ranging from 20 to +60 (Project Managers, Project Owners, Engineering Leads, Project Controlls personnel, Contractors, Procurement, C-Suite, Site Managing Directors, Site Leadership teams, at multiple geographical locations)
• Providing oversight, and guidance for IT capital projects to come in on cost and schedule. Projects likely to range from >€250K to in excess of €50 million. Provide input to departmental annual budgeting process.
• This role has multiple stakeholders, internal and external customers, as it is interfacing directly across the Urenco Group. Consequentially, some travel will likely be required in order to support the whole of the function.
• Advise, consult, and provide feedback in the evolvement of the Group’s IT Project Delivery Strategy, aligned to deliver against the Group’s objectives and strategy across its capex portfolio.
• Overall responsibility for the delivery of Assurance Review outputs to assess project quality including, safety, scope, cost, schedule and Business benefits objectives. Communicate strategy, objectives and benefits to business unit and group whilst also assuring the organisational strategy and business benefits are being achieved.
• Assess whether or not the project team is a high performance team and flawless integration of all sub-disciplines and functions throughout the project lifecycle has been achieved or will be achieved.
• Leveraging experience from a number of industry sectors and continuously scan the market for best practice, analyzing developments and assessing how they can be exploited by Urenco to further value creation/delivery/capture/protection. This will involve benchmarking with established and widely accepted industry agencies (eg Independent Project Analysis Inc or others).
What do you need to be great at this role?
• Min 10 years’ experience being fully accountable and actively leading IT projects (or in an owner role) as a Project Manager, or Contract Manager, or Project Controls Lead, or Project Engineer.
• Min 5 years managing multi-cultural teams
• Demonstrable experience being fully accountable for a complex, multi contract, multi-discipline project as the lead for the IT function as the representative of the owner.
• Competent managing an Agile delivery process, can translate agile ensure its consistent with Urenco governance processes. Educating IT guys on what they need to do from a heavy lifting perspective. Funding process / stage gate delivery process.
• SAP experience / Cloud based technology experience
• Project management experience - Traditional project management skill set such as managing cost, risk, multi stakeholder engagement and lifecycle management.
