Nuclear Regulatory Commissioner Annie Caputo and the Technical Assistant for Materials Celimar Valentin-Rodriguez toured the Urenco USA uranium enrichment facility in Eunice, New Mexico on September 16. They interacted with employees as they viewed the centrifuge halls, the cylinder receipt and dispatch area, control room, centrifuge assembly building, and other key aspects of the plant. Commissioner Caputo spent time with UUSA senior management to further discuss challenges and opportunities within the nuclear fuel cycle and progress of advanced fuels. While in the New Mexico and Texas area, Commissioner Caputo and Valentin-Rodriguez planned to tour other nuclear related facilities.
