A thorough investigation has enabled the team to confidently identify the issue and cause of the incident which occurred at Urenco Nederland on 27 August. The support system that caused the incident was a filter with trapping material. Remedial measures to improve management of the trapping material have been put in place quickly and effectively to ensure there are no repeat incidents across the Urenco Group.
We are working closely with the Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) while they supervise the investigation into the incident.
The temporary disruption from part of our production will have no effect on customer deliveries.
