Urenco welcomes new interns

19 October 2021

Urenco operates a range of placements for students across all its locations and four new interns have joined the company adding to the existing three already at its Capenhurst site.

The seven interns are on 12-month placements working within Engineering, Waste, Sustainability, Communications and Finance.

Carolyn Taylor, Group L&D Manager said: “We see the value that supporting internships can bring to the business. University student placements are a great opportunity for Urenco to support future talent by providing valuable experience within their chosen disciplines. They are also a brilliant way of promoting the nuclear industry and highlighting the diverse nature of the roles available to students post qualification. We have a good track record of supporting students across a range of our early careers activities and the intern placement programme will look to further build on this.”

One of the interns, Polly, studying Geography at Loughborough University said: “I was really interested in working for Urenco in their sustainability team for my placement because this role provides an opportunity to make a real difference in mitigating climate change and achieving the sustainable development goals in an international company.”
