Urenco showcases innovations for net zero at Nuclear 2021

02 December 2021

Today, Urenco is attending Nuclear 2021, the UK industry’s leading annual nuclear conference. The event will bring together an array of speakers covering key developments over the past year, as well as looking ahead to 2022 and beyond under the theme ‘Nuclear for Net Zero’.

Urenco is Gold Sponsor for the event and we will be showcasing our role in the civil nuclear fuel cycle, our UK presence and how we are exploring new technologies that will strengthen nuclear’s low-carbon energy offering. These include the development of advanced fuels as well as supporting the design and build of an advanced modular reactor, U-Battery, that will provide low carbon, reliable energy for power intensive industries and remote locations.

Steve Threlfall, General Manager of U-Battery, will be speaking at the panel discussion ‘High Heat, Low Carbon: The Future Of AMRs’, where he will share his experience in developing U-Battery and how deploying these reactor types can help in achieving global net zero goals.
