Nuclear graduates set up sustainable business

05 November 2021

Clearly demonstrating one of Urenco’s leading behaviours: ‘Act Today for Tomorrow’, one of its nuclear graduates, Lewis, a U-Battery nuclear graduate and nine other nuclear graduates* in his year have set up a new business: ‘Earth, Sea & Skin Ltd’ offering plastic-free, sustainable, vegan moisturiser bars.

Lewis said: “We are all passionate about the environment and wanted to do something to help combat the impact of plastic pollution so this is an alternative to plastic packaged skincare. We started work on this about two months ago and our website has now gone live and sales are going better than expected! All money generated will go to The Hygiene Bank.”

Lewis concluded: “It’s been a great experience in setting up a business and learning skills we wouldn’t normally have. The main learning for me is that collaboration is key to business.”

  • The other graduates are based in different organisations including UK AEA, Magnox and Sellafield. You can follow their journey on Instagram @earth.sea.skin and Facebook @Earth.Sea.Skin”
