Urenco is delighted to announce that its partner, the Science Museum, has today unveiled their spectacular new interactive gallery to the general public.
Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery features specially-commissioned artworks, exciting demonstrations and immersive experiences led by the Museum’s in-house team of Explainers. The £6 million permanent gallery will inspire visitors of all ages to wonder at the science and mathematics that shape our lives.
Urenco, who is a Major Sponsor of the gallery, have focused their support in two key areas on gallery; the Forces zone, which explores the physics of forces and motion through ten interactive exhibits, and the showspace which is inspired by the Royal Institution’s world-renowned Faraday Theatre, providing live demonstrations of science-related experiments.
Stephen Billingham, Chairman of Urenco said:
‘‘I have been visiting the Science Museum since I was a boy, and the galleries have never ceased to amaze me. I have no doubt that this incredible space will spark wonder and curiosity in science for all generations.
‘Urenco is committed to promoting an interest in science, technology, engineering and maths subjects; a commitment we have been delivering on since 2007 when we started our Richie education programme. Our partnership with the Science Museum as a Major Sponsor of Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery fits perfectly with our ambition to inspire future generations of science leaders.
‘Wonderlab embodies everything we hold dear at Urenco; science and technology are at the very heart of what we do and we are excited to see the gallery open to the public today.’’
