In December 2015, URENCO, in partnership with the British Science Association (BSA), hosted its second annual Richie Lecture, welcoming over 300 enthused schoolchildren in a celebration of STEM education.
The Richie Lecture took place at the Science Museum in London with the theme ‘Energy Leaders of the Future’. It aimed to inspire schoolchildren to study science and engineering subjects and in turn to develop a new generation of science leaders.
The activities on the day included a keynote address from Dr Gabrielle Walker, a TV presenter and leading voice on energy matters and a private viewing of the Science Museum’s ‘Engineer Your Future’ exhibit with games and quizzes all related to energy!
URENCO has partnered with the BSA, one of the UK’s leading science organisations, since 2013. The Richie Lecture complements several other areas of collaboration including the launch last year of a set of classroom materials for primary school audiences as part of the nationwide CREST Star programme. The annual Richie Lecture is part of URENCO’s broader Richie Programme which is a core element of the company’s school and education outreach.
