Since 2007, URENCO has delivered Richie science workshops to more than 100,000 school students worldwide. The workshops are offered free to schools and teach children aged 8-10 about energy and the importance of protecting our planet for future generations.
Want to book a workshop, but not sure what to expect? Take a look at the video, which shows you exactly what happens during a Richie science workshop.
In 2014, URENCO developed a partnership with the British Science Association (BSA) to encourage young people to engage with STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects through their CREST initiative, an award scheme recognising success in STEM project work.
In order to enhance understanding of URENCO’s business, we have created a virtual reality environment, inside a portable headset, which explores the concepts of uranium enrichment and uses of electricity.
URENCO is committed to nurturing an interest in science and engineering to help create the energy leaders of the future. Each year we host a Richie Lecture for students aged 11-14 to inspire them to take a Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) subject at GCSE.
At URENCO we cherish the good relations we have built with our local communities. Our aim is to be seen as a valued asset within the community – we understand that setting high standards of conduct and performance, and
then achieving those standards, will convey to our neighbours the level of importance we place in this relationship.
