At URENCO, we understand that science and engineering are incredibly important subjects for students to learn. This is why one of our long standing sustainability commitments is to nurture the next generation of scientists and engineers through our Richie programme.
Since 2007, URENCO has delivered Richie science workshops to more than 100,000 students worldwide. The workshops are offered free to schools and teach children aged 7-11 about energy and the importance of protecting our planet for future generations.
URENCO is committed to nurturing an interest in science and engineering to help create the energy leaders of the future. Each year we host a Richie Lecture for students aged 11-14 to inspire them to take a STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subject at GCSE.
In 2014, URENCO developed a partnership with the British Science Association (BSA) to encourage young people to engage with STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects through their CREST initiative, an award scheme recognising success in STEM project work.
As major sponsor of Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery, which opened on 12 October 2016 at the Science Museum, URENCO has committed to nurturing the next generation of scientists and engineers to help create the energy leaders of the future.
URENCO’s campaign, Enabling our Every Day, explores the aspects of everyday life which are made possible by nuclear technology, including contact lens solution, beauty products, alarm clocks and medical treatments. We all benefit from nuclear technology every day.
